Canadian manufacturers who want to improve machining productivity and profitability will experience a wide variety of high-precision machine tool technology from Mazak at the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) from September 29 - October 2 in booth #1217 at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company will feature live cutting demonstrations of full 5-axis machining, Multi-Tasking, Swiss-type high-volume production machining and high-speed turning centers, along with the affordable Ez Series for shops of any size, all of which will help shops do more and make more.

Returning to CMTS this year will be the next-generation INTEGREX i-350H STN Multi-Tasking machine, boasting a second spindle and lower turret for single-setup part processing. The INTEGREX i-H Series allows manufacturers to increase output and part accuracy with DONE IN ONEÒ processing from raw material to a finished component on a single machine. The Mazak MAZATROL SmoothAi CNC system improves productivity with fast, high-precision control, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technology. The machine also features Ai Thermal Shield technology, an advanced system that uses machine learning and modeling to compensate instantly for changes in machine and ambient temperature over the course of an operation. Ai Thermal Shield technology ensures the highest degree of accuracy even over long machining cycles.

Four new machines will join the INTEGREX i-350H STN in this year’s CMTS lineup. For full, 5-axis machining, attendees will experience the VARIAXIS C-700 Vertical Machining Center, which is the company’s latest expansion in the VARIAXIS C Series line. A variety of spindle options are available for different material applications from heavy-duty machining of steel to high-speed processing of non-ferrous metal such as aluminum. The VARIAXIS C-700 has a 27.7" (700 mm) by 19.69” (500 mm) table with a maximum load of 1,543 pounds (700 kg). The machine’s maximum workspace is 31.5" (850 mm) by 19.69" (500 mm), and it can accept a range of automation options, including a 2-, 4- or 6-pallet changer.

For high-speed production of small, complex parts from up to 1.5" (38 mm) bar stock, the company will feature the SYNCREX 38/8 Swiss-type Production Turning machine. The machine transforms productivity with innovative new technologies. The machine’s 15" (38 cm) touch-panel Mazak MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC with full mechanical keyboard is engineered specifically for Swiss-type machining. Its High Damping Composite Casting (HDCC) base provides better rigidity, less thermal distortion, longer tool life and better surface finishes.

For high-speed and high-precision turning in a space-saving design, attendees can experience Mazak’s QTE-100 CNC Turning Center with a 6" chuck that can process parts up to 11.42" in diameter. Versatile and reliable, the QTE-100 has a built-in motor spindle designed to provide high torque even in the low-speed range for higher cutting capacity. The QTE-100 features a 12-position drum turret, and a wide range of turning, milling, Y-axis and second spindle specifications are available to suit specific production requirements. Mazak MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC offers both EIA/ISO G-Code and conversational programming, giving manufacturers infinite part production possibilities.

At CMTS, the QTE 100 MY will be paired with a Gantry Loader that makes long-hour automatic operation possible with high-speed/high-accuracy workpiece loading and unloading.

The Kentucky-built VC-Ez 20 with a 2-pallet changer will round out Mazak’s offerings at CMTS. Like all Ez Series machines, the VC-Ez 20 Vertical Machining Center provides shops affordable access to Mazak reliability and is highly configurable with a full range of options to meet a variety of production needs. The machine is configured with a 25 HP, 12,000-rpm spindle and a standard 30-tool automatic tool changer. A 50-tool magazine is available as an option. In addition to its Mazak MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC, the VC-Ez 20 is equipped with Thermal Displacement Control that allows it to monitor and react to thermal disruptions for stable machining accuracy over long periods of time.

All Mazak machines are automation-ready, and CMTS 2025 offers attendees the opportunity to speak directly with automation experts to discuss how they can integrate scalable automation into their production operations. The company will also spotlight its industry-leading Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care program that provides end-to-end support for every Mazak machine tool and Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF), which gives customers access to factory-direct low-cost financing on Mazak machines.
