Mazak Brought New Ez-Series Vertical Traveling Column Machine to IMTS 2026

FLORENCE, Ky., September 14, 2026 – As a new addition to the Mazak Ez Series, the VTC-Ez 30 made its IMTS 2026 debut. The machine is the first vertical traveling column machine in the series that also encompasses horizontal turning and conventional vertical machining centers, all of which provide shops with value, performance and dependability.

The machine’s fixed-table design ensures extreme machining stability along with ample axis travels measuring 69.3" in X, 29.9" in Y and 26.0" in Z. An 82.7" x 30.0" worktable with a 3,300-lb maximum load capacity allows shops to machine long, heavy workpieces. Or, with a center divider, they can set the table up with multiple smaller parts as a substitute for two-pallet changing capability.

A CAT #40-taper, air-cooled spindle on the VTC-Ez 30 delivers 15,000 rpm, 29.5 hp and 81.1 lb-ft of cutting speed, power and torque. To keep the spindle working, the machine’s automatic tool changer accommodates up to 24 tools. Mazak also offers an optional 20,000-rpm spindle along with a 48-tool changer capacity.

For shops seeking flexibility in their CNC programming, the VTC-Ez 30 comes standard with Mazak’s MAZATROL SmoothEz CNC control for conversational programming, with an optional MAZATROL SmoothG CNC control for providing G-code programming and enhanced performance capabilities. The machine also delivers rapid traverse rates of up to 1,180 ipm in the X, Y and Z axes for fast, efficient movement between operations.
