EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, May 26, 2026 – Among the featured technology, Mazak Canada will spotlight two machines from the company’s VC-Ez Series of Vertical Machining Centers at the DISCOVER MORE WITH Mazak event in Edmonton, Alberta. The free event is open to registered guests on June 17 at the Mazak Edmonton Technical Centre and will run from 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. For manufacturers needing part processing capabilities beyond those of commodity machines, Mazak’s VC-Ez Series machines deliver stronger cutting performance, improved surface finishes, and significantly reduced cycle times for greater confidence and success on tight-tolerance work. The event will also showcase the advanced Multi-Tasking part processing of Mazak’s QUICK TURN 250MSY and 350MY machines.

The two vertical machining centers include the VC-Ez 16X and the VC-Ez 32. The VC-Ez 16X performs full, simultaneous 5-axis machining and delivers axis travels of 705mm in X and 410mm in both Y and Z (27.75" x 16.14" x 16.14") and a rapid traverse rate of 42m/min (1,654 ipm) on all three axes. Its 5-axis rotary/tilt trunnion table with roller gear cam technology increases part-production capabilities with 360° of C-axis rotation and -110° to +40° of B-axis tilting capacity. To ensure rigidity, speed and accuracy, the machine also incorporates dual lagged ball screws on each linear axis along with the Mazak MX Hybrid Roller Guide System.

Mazak’s VC-Ez 32 3-axis machine is the largest model in the VC-Ez family of products. For part size flexibility, axis travels measure 630mm in X, 815mm in Y, and 700mm in Z (64.17" x  32.08" x 27.56" ), with a rapid traverse rate of 32m/min (1,259 ipm) on all three axes. The machine accommodates workpieces up to 1630mm (64.17") long, 720mm (28.35") wide and 700mm (27.56") tall, and up to 1850kg (4,078.5 lbs) in weight. The ergonomically designed machine features a compact footprint that measures only 17.69m3 (190.47sq ft).

Both VC-Ez machines are heavy, rigid and engineered to efficiently process part geometries from simple to complex across a broad range of materials. They are available with either CAT #40- or CAT #50-taper spindles. Additionally, Mazak offers a range of options for horsepower and tool magazine capacity as well as a choice of MAZATROL SmoothEz, SmoothG, or SmoothX controls so shops can select the platform that best fits their part programming needs. For VC-Ez machines, Mazak supports aftermarket robot automation, offering factory supplied automatic doors and robot interface for simple and efficient field integration.

Mazak’s QUICK TURN 250MSY features two turning spindles (S), milling capability (M) and Y-axis off-centerline machining (Y) for DONE IN ONE® Multi-Tasking part processing. Its main turning spindle headstock incorporates a 254mm (10") chuck mounted on a 35 hp (26 kW) 4,000 rpm integral spindle that generates 465 N•m (343 ft-lbs) of torque for heavy-duty metal removal.

Available with either a 500mm (20") or a 1000mm (40") bed length, the QUICK TURN 250MSY accommodates part diameters up to 350mm (13.78") and bar stock up to 76mm (3"). Maximum machining length measures 540mm (21.27") on the 500mm (20") bed and 927.5mm (36.52") on the 1000mm (40") bed.

With milling (M) and Y-axis off-centerline (Y) capabilities, the QUICK TURN 350MY includes a through-hole chuck package and integral turning spindle motor and is equipped with either a 660mm (26") or 1524mm (60") bed length. For part-processing versatility, it provides a maximum machining diameter of 420mm (16.540") and a maximum machining length of 1538mm (62.72") for the 1524mm bed length version. With a bar diameter capacity of 102mm (4"), the turning spindle, with a 305mm (12”) chuck, has a 40 hp (29.8 kW) motor and maximum speed of 4,000 rpm, while the rotary tool turret spindle offers 10.0 hp (8 kW) with a maximum speed of 6,000 rpm and 12-tool capacity.

Every Mazak machine is backed by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care, the industry’s most comprehensive machine support program. In addition, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) allows shops to easily move their manufacturing forward with one-stop, factory-direct financing on Mazak equipment.
