Apprenticeships

Yamazaki Mazak is currently recruiting its next cohort of apprentices. A Mazak apprenticeship is a chance to join the world leader in machine tools and a significant investment in both your future and the future of the organisation.

You will have access to college education alongside hands-on involvement in the workplace with experienced members of staff that are willing to pass their knowledge on to the next generation. From the beginning of your apprenticeship, you will be paid a competitive apprenticeship salary and will obtain nationally recognised qualifications. Upon successful completion, there is also the possibility of furthering your education at the next level.

Whether you are currently at GCSE or A-Level, have left education and looking for an exciting new challenge, a Mazak apprenticeship can provide you with the opportunity to develop a career in several different disciplines. With GCSE entry requirements of grades 4 in English and Science and a grade 5 in Maths, we are currently offering 2-to-4-year apprenticeships in the following areas:
 

TRAINEE FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER (SOUTHERN REGION), MECHATRONICS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 3) (1 VACANCY):

This apprenticeship will cover:

  • Learning how to install, service and repair Mazak CNC machines,
  • Learn how to diagnose faults, check machine alignments, change electrical drives, motors and encoders,
  • Field based (Southern Region of England),
  • Once trained you will visit customers in the Southern Region of England,
  • Expect to stay away from home, dependent on the distance to the customers premises
  • Required to spend your second year at our European headquarters based in Worcester

 

TRAINEE FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER (ANGLIAN/ EASTERN REGION), MECHATRONICS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 3) (1 VACANCY):

This apprenticeship will cover:

  • Learning how to install, service and repair Mazak CNC machines,
  • Learn how to diagnose faults, check machine alignments, change electrical drives, motors and encoders,
  • Field based (Eastern Region of England),
  • Once trained you will visit customers in the Eastern Region of England,
  • Expect to stay away from home, dependent on the distance to the customers premises
  • Required to spend your second year at our European headquarters based in Worcester
     

 

INFORMATION COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN (LEVEL 3) (1 VACANCY):

You will gain hands-on experience in IT support and business operations, including:

  • Learning how to triage and diagnose issues, identify root causes and resolve 1st line IT support problems involving both hardware and software.
  • Developing skills to create, interpret and maintain IT reports and technical documentation.
  • Understanding aspects of the supply chain, including software licensing, vendor liaison and license management.
  • Building knowledge in business reporting and analysis to support operational decision-making.
